The incident occurred around 1:30 AM when the team noticed a man on a scooter approaching from the Meerut Road side. When signaled to stop, the man attempted to flee by turning his scooter around. During the pursuit, he lost control and fell. As he tried to escape on foot, he opened fire on the police with a country-made pistol.
In response, the women officers strategically surrounded him and returned fire, injuring him in the leg. He was then overpowered and arrested.
The women officers carried the criminal on their shoulders, placed him in a police vehicle, and rushed him to MMG District Hospital, Ghaziabad, for treatment.
Commissioner of Police J Ravinder Goud praised the bravery of the women officers.
