The cast is stacked with talent. Sigourney Weaver plays a fearless fighter pilot, Jeremy Allen White takes on the role of Rotta, the son of Jabba the Hutt, and Jonny Coyne steps in as a dangerous imperial warlord.
According to Variety, the trailer also teases cameos from fan-favorite characters, including Babu Frik from ‘Rise of Skywalker’ and Zeb Orrelios from the animated series ‘Star Wars Rebels’.
The trailer itself is packed with action and adventure. Viewers see Mando and Grogu encountering Weaver and White’s characters, battling deadly robots and other sci-fi creatures, and facing off against a massive Rancor-like lizard in Rotta’s arena.
One of the trailer’s most exciting moments shows the heroes bringing down a towering AT-AT. It tumbles dramatically down a mountainside in a spectacular display.
On social media, the official Star Wars Instagram account shared the trailer, quickly creating a buzz among fans worldwide. The film’s official logline gives a glimpse into the story. “The evil Empire has fallen, and Imperial warlords remain scattered throughout the galaxy. As the fledgling New Republic works to protect everything the Rebellion fought for, they have enlisted the help of legendary Mandalorian bounty hunter Din Djarin and his young apprentice Grogu,” Variety reports.
For those unfamiliar, the series sets after the fall of the Galactic Empire in ‘Star Wars: Return of the Jedi’. The story follows a lone mercenary from the planet Mandalore as he travels across the outer reaches of the galaxy.
During his journey, he meets Grogu, a force-sensitive creature from the same mysterious species as Jedi Master Yoda. The pair form a strong bond while evading the remnants of the Empire. Along the way, they encounter familiar faces from across the Star Wars universe.
Grogu’s big-screen return sparked mixed reactions at the box office, but fans are still showing up for the galaxy’s most beloved duo. The film’s long-term journey may matter more than its opening weekend buzz.
Ananya, who is Chanel’s Indian brand ambassador, attended the show alongside Hollywood icons including Tilda Swinton, Penelope Cruz, Nicole Kidman, Margot Robbie, and more.
In an earlier interview with the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, Smith shared that the role he was offered was a major one, possibly even the son of Emperor Palpatine.
