Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Monday, taking a jibe at AAP Convenor Arvind Kejriwal, asked him to stand by the people of Punjab, who have recently faced devastating floods, instead of tracking her speeches on social media.

Her comments came a day after the former Delhi chief minister shared a video clip of Gupta speaking about EVM tampering.

Speaking after laying the foundation stone for a multi-level electric bus depot at a public event, CM Gupta, asked Kejriwal to turn his attention towards Punjab, reminding him that his party, the Aam Aadmi Party, is in power in the state that has been reeling under floods,

“I want to tell Mr. Kejriwal, please spend less time watching my videos, reels, and interviews on social media. You seem more interested in clipping portions from them to target me. If you had devoted the same energy to focusing on Delhi, its citizens would not be this unhappy today,” she said.

In a 14-second clip posted by Kejriwal on X, where the CM was seen responding to a query on EVM hacking allegations, she remarked, “For 70 years, Congress manipulated electronic voting machines without consequence, but when the BJP did it, it suddenly turned into an issue.”

Her alleged statement created a political uproar in Delhi, fueling allegations that the BJP captured power in the capital through vote theft. The BJP hit back, saying it was shocking to note that Kejriwal was posting an edited portion of an interview of CM Gupta.

The CM, hitting back at Kejriwal, said her comments were presented in a ‘distorted’ manner. She called it unbecoming of a leader of his stature.

She added that Kejriwal should turn his attention to the people of Punjab instead of “tracking her reels”. “I am standing with the people of Delhi. He left the DTC in losses. We will bring it back in profit,” she added.
