Two undertrials escape from high-security jail in Odisha
The UTP duo, Raja Sahani and Chandrakant Kumar, both natives of Bihar, managed to flee from the jail during the Dussehra celebrations inside the prison. They were kept in a separate cell.
The fugitives, identified as Nawal Kishore and Anas Kumar, allegedly used a garden (rubber) pipe to climb the wall and managed to jump over despite the presence of a live high-tension wire running along the boundary.

Senior officials were immediately informed, and an investigation into the incident has begun. Authorities are also probing the possible involvement of internal staff.
A search operation has been launched to track down the escapees, the spokesperson added.
The jail department has taken the matter seriously, given that Jaipur Central Jail is generally known for its strict security.
While occasional security lapses such as the recovery of mobile phones or small quantities of narcotics from inmates have been reported in the past, a major incident like a jailbreak has not been witnessed in recent years.
Earlier, the jail had also drawn attention when inmates made hoax calls threatening the life of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma.
