Following the Mahapanchayat held on September 13 at the UER-2 Bakkarwala–Mundka toll plaza, which resolved to demand a waiver of toll tax for villages near the corridor, rural leader Chaudhary Surender Solanki has begun mobilizing support across Delhi’s rural belt to prepare for a possible movement if the demands remain unmet.
Solanki has warned that unless the villagers’ demand for toll waiver is accepted by September 20, a massive chakka jam (road blockade) will be organized in Delhi’s rural areas on September 21.

Villagers have asserted that toll tax has never been imposed on rural Delhi in the past, and they will not accept it under any circumstances.
On Tuesday, Solanki embarked on a village-to-village campaign to strengthen the protest in case the government refuses to concede. Along with other rural leaders, he visited Madanpur, Rani Khera, Mubarakpur, Rasoolpur, and Jharoda villages in outer Delhi, claiming that residents there extended full support to the cause.
He further said that villagers were already aggrieved as their lands had earlier been acquired by previous governments at very low prices. “Now they expect the new government to listen to them,” he added.
Solanki reiterated that if toll collection is not stopped by September 20, villagers will stop paying it themselves from September 21.
