No compromise with zero-tolerance policy towards crime: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed development projects, law & order situation and flood relief work in the Varanasi parliamentary constituency of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday evening.
The chief minister, during a review meeting, gave strict instructions to officials that relief material should be provided to the flood victims on priority and their basic needs should be met immediately. He said that compensation should be distributed to the farmers on time and any kind of negligence in relief work will not be tolerated.

He stressed that all the development projects in the district should be completed within the stipulated time frame. He directed to complete the Ring Road Phase-2 by January 2026 and Kajjakpura flyover by November 2025 at all costs. It was told in the meeting that currently 66 big projects are underway in the district at a cost of about Rs 15,000 crore.

Discussing the law & order situation, the chief minister said the fear of police should be clearly visible among the criminals. There should be regular public hearing in the police stations and prompt action should be ensured against the criminals. He also directed to organize auto-taxi stands and vending zones to improve traffic management.
CM Yogi also laid special emphasis on improving health services. He said strict action should be taken against the middlemen roaming in government hospitals and concrete action should be taken against professional blood donors after identifying them. He also gave instructions to run an effective campaign to make Varanasi TB free soon.
The chief minister expressed concern over the problem of cows and stray dogs. He ordered better facilities, availability of green fodder, and quick treatment of sick animals in cow shelters. He also asked the Municipal Corporation, Panchayati Raj and Veterinary Department to jointly find a permanent solution to the problem of stray dogs.
In the meeting, Yogi clarified that if development work is not done on time on the land allotted by VDA and UPSIDA, a fine will be imposed and recovered. He also gave instructions to ensure adequate availability of fertilizers and stop black marketing.
Regarding the arrival of the Prime Minister of Mauritius proposed to visit Varanasi in the coming days, the Chief Minister ordered to complete the security arrangements and welcome preparations on time. He said that this occasion will further strengthen the global identity of Kashi.
