In her first public engagement following the attack on her, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Friday addressed the people of Trans Yamuna region’s Gandhi Nagar readymade garment market, assuring them their chief minister will never be afraid, never be tired, and defeated until the residents of the city get their rights.

Reiterating her government’s commitment towards development of the Trans-Yamuna region, Gupta asserted that she would continue to put efforts and struggle alongside the public until their issues are resolved.

She attended the Vastrika 2025 and the golden-jubilee celebration of the Gandhi Nagar Market in East Delhi, known for the readymade garments sector.

She extended greetings to the traders in the Gandhi Nagar market on the occasion and said not only the place has provided employment to a large number of people but also contributed to Delhi’s economy while giving new meaning to Prime Minister Modi’s vision of Vocal for Local and Atmanirbhar Bharat.

She said the development of the trans Yamuna region is the government’s priority. It will approve required funds for the betterment of the areas.

Stating that lakhs of people living in the region are waiting for the Yamuna to be clean, she assured that with the passage of time they would witness the situation of the water flowing in the river improving. The government will leave no stone unturned for the growth of the localities under trans-Yamuna area with new routes of the city’s new electric buses from the region.

The CM shared that her government will work to ensure the cleanliness of the Yamuna river by developing new sewer lines, ensuring better amenities by way of new water supply lines, multi-level parking facilities, public toilets, and other basic amenities.

She sent across a message to the trans Yamuna residents that they need not worry as all the issues pertaining to their areas will be addressed and resolved.

Union Minister of State Harsh Malhotra, MLAs Arvinder Singh Lovely, Anil Goyal, and Vishva Hindu Parishad president Kapil Khanna along with many other dignitaries were present on the occasion.
