Two sons murdered their father over a property dispute and dumped the body in a canal after tying his hands and legs, in the Jabalpur district of Madhya Pradesh.

According to the police, the incident occurred a day ago in village Agariya under the jurisdiction of the Majhgawan police station.

Police station in-charge Hardayal Uday Singh said the deceased was identified as Girani Kumar Chakravarti. His sons, Ajay and Santosh, used to have regular quarrels with him over the family’s property.

On the fateful night, they again had a heated argument with their father, and consequently, both sons murdered their father. They then took the body about 10 km away and threw it into a canal after tying the hands and legs with ropes.

The next day, a villager saw the body in the canal and informed the police. A police team reached the spot and brought the body out of the canal. It was sent for postmortem.

After investigations and interrogations, the police registered a case of murder against the two sons. Both were arrested and sent to jail.
