Shehnaaz Gill brings female-centric story ‘Ikk Kudi’ to cinemas this September

Shehnaaz Gill is ready to charm the big screen once again with her upcoming Punjabi film ‘Ikk Kudi’, which is going to hit theatres on September 19.

The actress shared the happy news with her fans through an Instagram post, writing, “#IkkKudi, har ek ladki ki kahani. Coming to cinemas near you on 19th September,” along with the film’s poster.

The movie will enjoy a worldwide release under the banner of Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. The filmmaker himself celebrated the announcement by resharing Shehnaaz’s post on his Instagram story.

Directed and written by Amarjit Singh Saron, ‘Ikk Kudi’ is production of Shehnaaz Gill, Amarjit Singh Saron, and Kaushal Joshi. The film comes from the banners of Raaya Picturez, Amor Films, and Shehnaaz Gill Productions.

While the makers have not revealed the complete storyline, the film promises a female-centric narrative revolving around the life of a young woman and the challenges she faces around marriage. The first poster features Shehnaaz in a simple look.

Fans didn’t waste a moment in expressing their excitement. Social media was filled with congratulatory messages and heartfelt wishes for Shehnaaz’s new project.

The actress had first revealed ‘Ikk Kudi’ back in November last year, posting behind-the-scenes pictures from the first day of shooting. “Starting a new journey today and immensely proud and happy to announce that today we commence the shooting of my Punjabi film with my dream team,” she had shared at the time.

Shehnaaz Gill’s career has been on a steady rise. She made her mark in films like ‘Honsla Rakh’, ‘Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan’, and ‘Thank You For Coming’. However, her biggest breakthrough came from Salman Khan’s reality show Bigg Boss 13. There her bond with the late actor Sidharth Shukla became a fan favourite.
