Assuring citizens that the state government stands firmly with flood-affected families in this hour of crisis, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav on Friday transferred ₹30 crore directly to the bank accounts of over 28,000 affected people across the state with a single click.

He noted that the current monsoon has brought 37 per cent more rainfall than normal, triggering floods in several districts. The CM said ₹28 crore had already been disbursed earlier, with another ₹30 crore released today.

This does not include crop-loss compensation, for which surveys are underway. In 2025–26 so far, ₹123 crore in relief has been distributed under various categories, with adequate funds allocated to all districts for disaster management.
According to officials, the state has received 729.1 mm of rainfall — 37 per cent above normal — within a short period. Guna, Niwari, Tikamgarh, Mandla and Ashoknagar have recorded the highest rainfall.
The floods have caused 296 human deaths, the loss of about 1,685 livestock, complete destruction of 299 houses and partial damage to around 4,114 houses.
Sixty-one relief camps are operational across the state, sheltering 7,345 people. Two camps in Mauganj are currently housing 175 residents.
Most irrigation dams are at 40% to 90% capacity, while four have reached full capacity. A 24×7 toll-free helpline (1079) has been set up to assist the public during the flood situation, officials said.
