In the ensuing melee, Asif was attacked with a sharp-edged “poker-type” weapon. He was rushed to a nearby hospital with a grievous injury in his chest but was declared dead.

Speaking on the incident, Hemant Tiwari, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Southeast), confirmed that the accused and the victim had an altercation over parking a scooter. “During the altercation, one of the accused attacked the victim on his chest with a sharp, pointed object that caused his death,” he added.

Huma Qureshi’s father and Asif’s uncle, Saleem Qureshi, describing the incident, said, “Two men parked a scooter in front of the house. Asif asked them to move it aside and not block the entrance. This led to a verbal altercation that turned physical. They murdered my nephew.”
