“A phenomenal speech by Home Minister Amit Shah Ji in the Rajya Sabha. He categorically expressed our Government’s point of view on key aspects relating to national security, uprooting terror networks, and the success of Operation Sindoor,” Modi said in a post on X.
Modi also praised Dr Jaishankar’s address, highlighting India’s proactive role in addressing global terrorism and securing citizens. Participating in the debate on Operation Sindoor, Minister Jaishankar emphasised that India’s military response established a “new normal” in dealing with cross-border terrorism, warning that bilateral ties with Pakistan would remain restricted to counter-terrorism.
”EAM Dr Jaishankar Ji’s exceptional speech in the Rajya Sabha emphasised India’s efforts to make terrorism a subject of global attention. He also talked about India’s fitting response through Operation Sindoor and how we are furthering the safety of our citizens,” Modi said.
The government’s strong stance on national security and terrorism was evident in the speeches of both Mr Shah and Dr Jaishankar. They asserted India’s right to respond with “measured” and “non-escalatory” actions focused solely on neutralising terror infrastructure.
Jaishankar noted that only three UN member states opposed Operation Sindoor, demonstrating overwhelming international support for India’s right to self-defence. He also highlighted the global community’s condemnation of the Pahalgam attack, with the Quad (strategic forum between the United States, Japan, India, and Australia) and BRICS (Brazil, China, Egypt, Ethiopia, India, Indonesia, Iran, the Russian Federation, South Africa, and the United Arab Emirates) reaffirming their commitment to combating terrorism.
