To honour the contributions of retired officers, Chief of Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi on Saturday conferred the ‘Veteran Achievers Award’ upon three veterans during the Retiring Officers Seminar held here.
In a post, the ADGPI stated that the honoured veterans exemplify selfless service to the nation beyond their uniformed years through a range of impactful initiatives.

The awardees included Maj AK Singh (Retd), who has been instrumental in the education of underprivileged children; Maj TC Rao (Retd), who runs a foundation for the welfare of families of soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice and also provides free guest rooms to veterans and their families; and Havildar Ramesh Ganpat Kharmale (Retd), who is leading various ecological preservation efforts in Maharashtra.

Their enduring commitment not only strengthens the nation but also plays a pivotal role in inspiring the youth to join the Armed Forces and serve with pride, the statement read.
