Unnatural death of nurse sparks stir
The body of a nurse employed at a private medical college hospital in Malandighi, Kanksha, in West Burdwan district was found lying in a pool of blood in front of a multi-storey building last night.
Former Rajya Sabha Member and retired Director General of Police Gyan Prakash Pilania passed away here Sunday night. The IPS turned politician Pilania (92) was cremated with state honours at the Khatipura crematorium on Monday. His son former MLA Navin Pilania lit the pyre.
Pilania served as Rajya sabha Member for two terms between 2004 and 2014 on BJP ticket. The state Governor Hari Bhau Bagade and Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma condoled his death.
