The Rajya Sabha has witnessed early adjournments in the last three days following confrontation between the Government and the Opposition.
Vice-President and Rajya Sabha Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar on Wednesday afternoon met a Congress delegation led by Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Mallikarjun Kharge.
The meeting took place in the Chairman’s office in Parliament House.
After the meeting, the vice-president’s office tweeted: “Hon’ble Vice-President & Chairman Rajya Sabha, Shri Jagdeep Dhankhar interacted with an @INCIndia delegation led by the Leader of Opposition (RS), Shri Mallikarjun Kharge ji at his chamber in Parliament House today.”

While ruling BJP members have been demanding apology by Congress leader and Lok Sabha member Rahul Gandhi over his remarks about the Indian democracy in the UK, the Opposition has been demanding a Joint Parliamentary Committee probe into allegations of financial manipulations against the Adani Group. The situation has led to a stalemate in the Upper House.
