Monsoon delayed by 10 days in Uttar Pradesh; rainfall deficit worsens in 37 districts

The Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh has completely lifted the weekly curfew on Sundays.
This has been done in view of the declining cases of Covid in the state.

Cinema hall owners were also asking the state government to end the weekly closure since it was affecting cinema business.
The government spokesman said that markets will now observe their earlier weekly closure on designated days.

The Lucknow Development Authority has launched demolition proceedings against the owners of the Aliganj building where a fire killed 18 people. Authorities allege commercial activity was being conducted in a structure approved for residential use, while inspection drives have intensified across Uttar Pradesh.
The preliminary investigation by the Special Investigation Team (SIT), constituted by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to probe Sunday's devastating fire in Aliganj that claimed the lives of 15 students, has revealed several irregularities and serious deficiencies in safety measures at the building.
