Kolkata Police today published the Puja Guide 2019 during a Press conference in Lalbazar. The annual review for the Kolkata traffic Police was also published with the traffic department announcing the elaborate arrangements for the upcoming Durga Puja days. The arrangements will be in place from tomorrow onwards. The Kolkata Police Puja Guide has four separate maps for North and Central Kolkata, South and South East Kolkata, South Suburban and South West and Port area.

The maps show the locations of all the major Pujas in respective areas with the directions for vehicular and pedestrian movement. Bus stands, metro rail stations, petrol pumps, parking zones, hospitals, police assistance booths have also been marked on these maps to provide a comprehensive guide for the pandal-hoppers. In view of the security and safety of the people, several roads have been closed for vehicular traffic during the Puja days. These restrictions will come in force from Chathurthi on Wednesday.

Roads such as Bagbazar Street, Surya Sen Street, B. K. Paul Avenue, J. Mullick Road, Colootola Street and parts of B. B. Ganguly in north and central Kolkata; Kali Temple Road, Dover Lane, parts of Circus Avenue towards Park Circus connector flyover, Hindustan Road, M. Gardens, Jodhpur Park in south Kolkata; stretch of Raja Subodh Mullick Road towards Sonarpur from its crossing with Garia Station Road and Mansatala Lane, Michael Dutta Street, Ramkamal Street in Port area will be out of bounds for all kinds of vehicular traffic. Karl Marx Sarani will be closed as and when necessary.

All private cars bound for Bijon Setu will be diverted via Swinhoe Street and Cornfield Road. Buses and mini-buses for the Setu will use Gariahat Road below the flyover. The police have also provided several emergency telephone numbers for the convenience of the pandal visitors. They have also asked the citizens to contact the local police station or Lalbazar Control Room in case they notice any suspicious activities.
