A senior citizen, Chandar Nandi, posted a tweet saying that he and his wife had been put in separate batches for the Kailash Mansarovar Yatra being organised by the government and sought External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj’s intervention in helping them. What he got in return was another example that proves Swaraj is an ace, when it comes to Twiiter diplomacy.

In her trademark humour, Sushma Swaraj replied; ” The computer is guilty of separating you. But don’t worry. We will send you both in the same batch”.

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra and annual tour, involves a parikrama of Mount Kailash and a holy dip in the Mansarovar Lake, draws thousands of pilgrims every year.

Registration for Kailash Manasarovar Yatra organised by Ministry of External Affairs has commenced on 20 February 2018. This year, the Yatra is scheduled between 8 June to 8 September through two routes. Applicants for this Yatra must be at least 18 years and not more than 70 years on 1 January 2018. Last date for registration was 23 March 2018.
