Satyajit Ray, one of the greatest filmmakers in the Indian cinema history, had raised the bar of filmmaking. The auteur created brilliant Bengali films during his career. Born in Calcutta on 2 May 1921, Ray started his film career with Pather Panchali in 1955 and won the Best Human Document award at the 1956 Cannes Film Festival.
