Following the complaint filed by Mohammed Shami’s wife Hasin Jahan, Kolkata Police on Monday morning wrote to the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) asking for details of the Indian cricket team’s itinerary, specifically of Shami, on their tour of South Africa.

The police want to know whether Shami was on the same flight after the Men-in-Blue left South Africa or not. The reason behind their demand is to know whether Shami went to Dubai officially with the entire Indian squad or had gone alone at his own expense.

The Kolkata Police’s line of questions also included how long and where did Shami stay in Dubai and whether the Indian cricketer was following the guidelines of the BCCI or not.

For further investigations of the case, Kolkata Police are waiting for the reply from Indian cricket board.

Earlier, an FIR was registered against the cricketer on Friday after his wife complained of domestic violence and adultery.

According to media reports, the FIR was registered under sections 498A, 323, 307, 376, 506, 328, 34 of the Indian Penal Code against Shami and 4 others, following Hasin Jahan’s complaint.

Later, Jahan also alleged that Shami was forcing her to have physical relations with his brother.

However, Indian pacer still believes that solving the issue by talking is the best possible option. Talking to media Shami said, “only patch up” will benefit them and their daughter.

“If this matter can be solved by talking, nothing can be better than that. Only patch up will do good for us and our daughter. If I have to go to Kolkata to solve the matter, I will. I am ready to talk, whenever she wants,” Shami said to the media on Sunday.

Talking to Aaj Tak on Sunday, Shami said, “I am trying to resolve the entire issue within the family. I am ready for all the legal proceedings and I will do whatever I can to save the future of my kid and family.”

“I am a law-abiding citizen and will answer all questions and hope everything is fine soon. I also want the proofs submitted are thoroughly probed. Everything was fine until a week ago and I don’t know what happened so suddenly,” Shami said.

Earlier Shami had claimed that Hasin Jahan is being brainwashed by somebody to level allegations against him. However, Jahan had said Shami was about to run away and ditch her.

“I tried to convince him that he should accept his mistake, I have been trying for very long. He would’ve run away to UP by now if I did not catch hold of that mobile phone, he would’ve divorced me till now if I did not have the mobile phone,” Shami’s wife told ANI.

Recently, after Jahan’s allegations, Shami had denied all the claims and said that his wife had lost her mind and that she was being brainwashed.

“He’s making up all sorts of things to save himself from allegations. Why didn’t the media investigate even after I gave them all details? Till the day I took to social media, I tried to convince him to save our marriage. If he tries to come back I may still consider,” she continued.

Days after Hasin shared all the screenshots of chats along with a few photographs on social networking site Facebook, Jahan made more disturbing allegations, claiming that Shami wanted her to have physical relations with his brother.

“Shami told me this outside the room and Hasib (Shami’s brother) was inside the room. Shami pushed me inside and locked the room. Hasib tried to misbehave with me. I screamed and then Shami opened the door,” Jahan told the media.

Earlier on Sunday morning, Mohammed Shami broke silence over the ongoing controversy surrounding him and his wife Hasin Jahan.

Talking to ABP news, Shami said people were making fun of the entire episode. “Since it is in public domain, people are making jokes and fun of the entire episode. Families from both sides are trying to sort things out, I am in touch with all of them,” he said.

Shami also claimed that the cell-phone that purportedly had the controversial images and WhatsApp chats shared by his wife did not belong to him.

“The mobile phone which my wife claims to be mine does not belong to me,” he said in the interview.

The cricketer also said Hasin Jahan was under “somebody’s influence” and that she was being “brainwashed”.

“I won’t blame my wife, she is under someone’s influence and is being brainwashed. We often fought in the past but sorted it out…,” he said.

Talking about the audio recording that Hasin Jahan leaked on Saturday, Shami said, “The audio recording shared by my wife needs to be taken to the lab for verifying its authenticity.”
