8th Day

Of Happiness, Hibiscus and Hungry Birds

Today, one of my favorite articles, is from Krishnaraj Iyengar, who has written about happiness, or more specifically how Finland has been named the happiest country in the world second year in a row. What makes its people so happy? And what exactly is happiness?

Fighting for what exactly?

Are all rebellions of the common individual worthy? What about when in that rebellion the common individual is pitted against the common individual?

The ungrateful son

, Gopal never confessed to his inadvertent crime, and he just tried to forget all the memories of his father in order to live happily without feeling the burden of conscience.

Wind and the windows

The cafe Artsy – Coffee and Culture is tucked away in a by-lane off the meandering A.J.C. Bose Road. It is often discovered by passing Kolkatans by the aroma of freshly brewed coffee and freshly baked cake. And once you’ve walked in, an entire world opens up. It is a space where artists can exhibit their work for free. Musicians can perform live for free. The only cost is food and drink. The prices are fair, and the fare is priceless.

Anatomy of a fading pastime

In the backdrop of the heinous RG Kar incident, people all over the world have seen and experienced many forms of protest both on and off the road. As the intensity of protests and demands for justice show no signs of waning till date, it is only likely that they will adopt new ways of expressing themselves and infiltrate all the seasonal activities and festivals

Rotten roots

When people declare, “We want justice” which is the war cry that is rending the air today, I think it is more than punishment for the guilty who committed the heinous crime which has sunk people to the depths of despair and anger.
