South Africa won the toss and opted to field against Afghanistan in their World Cup group stage clash at the Sophia Gardens on Saturday. Afghanistan were 33-0 after 5.5 overs with Noor Ali Zadran and Hazratullah Zazai batting on 16 each when rain stopped play.

South Africa, who are yet to taste victory, stand at the 9th position in the World Cup 2019 points table. Afghanistan, on the other side, are also deprived of a win yet in the 3 matches played and are at the bottom of the points table.
