In an epic tweet, English footballer Peter Crouch literally broke the internet, sending millions of netizens into peals of laughter with a seemingly innocuous photograph of himself with his ‘family’.
The 6’7 Crouch, who plays for English Premier League club Stoke City, uploaded an image of himself feeding giraffes with the caption “Summer for me is about time with family.”
Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels was one of many to retweet the image with his caption reading “You are breaking the internet with this”.
With the Premier League on its customary summer break, Crouch seems to be enjoying his time off. The man who became famous for his robotic dance moves at the 2006 FIFA World Cup, has enjoyed a long career in which he has played for many top sides including Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur, among others.
At 36, the tall striker is in the final stages of his footballing career, but even as his body slows, his tweet proved that his wit is still intact. He made 29 appearances for Stoke City last season, scoring 10 goals and even went so far to suggest he can keep playing till he is 40.
