“The members of the leadership who were struck led the terror organization’s activities for years, and are directly responsible for carrying out the October 7 massacre and waging the war against the State of Israel,” the IDF statement read.
Although the Israeli military statement didn’t mention the location of the attack, reports of loud explosions in the Qatari capital came out.
According to media reports, the Hamas delegation had gathered in Doha to discuss the latest US proposal for the prospects of a ceasefire in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Qatar’s Foreign Ministry has condemned the Israeli attack that hit a residential premises where Hamas’ political bureau members were residing.
Dr Majed Al Ansari, the spokesperson of the Qatari Foreign Ministry, said that the attack was a “blatant violation” of international laws and posed a “serious threat” to Qatar.
“The State of Qatar strongly condemns this attack, and affirms that it will not tolerate this reckless Israeli behaviour and the continuous tampering with the security of the region and any action aimed at its security and sovereignty,” the statement added.
