Aircraft movements at the Mumbai International Airport Limited (MIAL) faced a slight slug due to the incident. Secondary Runway 32 was used until Runway 27 resumed flight operations.

It has been reported that the Airports Authority of India (AAI) had to issue a NOTAM (Notice to Airmen) as a security measure.

A NOTAM is issued to alert aircraft pilots of potential hazards on a flight route or at a location.

Among the flights that were delayed were AirAsia India I5 302, Air India AI 806, GoAir G8 327, and IndiGo 6E 6749.

The Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, the country’s second busiest airport after New Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport, has two runways — 0927 (the main runway) and 1432 (the secondary runway). Together, they handle a little over 1,000 arrivals and departures every day.
