BJP, BJD lock horns at Rayagada

The confrontation between the BJP and the ruling BJD workers in different parts of the state got reflected here on Saturday when BJP workers tried to throw eggs at the convoy of the Higher Education minister Pradeep Panigrahy and ruling BJD workers as well as the police prevented them from doing so. 

In the entire process, workers of both the parties hurled eggs at each other. The police detained six BJP workers and released them after the minister&’s departure. 

The BJP workers staged a road block and were countered by a similar effort by the BJD activists. Both sides abused each other and the wordy duel continued for two hours. 

Panigrahy had come to attend the 15th District Planning Committee (DPC) at that time on the way to DRDA conference hall the BJP workers attempted to show black flag but they were stopped by the police.
