Chinese Smartphone brand Comio launched its Comio C2 entry-level budget 4G smartphone a couple of months back in India at Rs. 7,199. The highlight features of the Comio C2 smartphone include a massive 4000mAh battery, stock Android 7.0 Nougat experience, 2GB RAM, and pre-loaded anti-theft software. We got hold of the device to bring a detailed review for you.

A little about ‘Comio’ history:
Comio is the flagship mobile device label from the well-known Chinese Topwise Communication, which is one of the biggest original device maker (ODM) in China.
Founded in June 2005, the manufacturer is known to make products for many Indian handset makers, including leading brand Micromax. China-based Topwise Communication made its entry into the Indian smartphone market with the launch of Comio S1 and a couple of mobiles.
Recently, Sanjay Kumar Kalirona who previously served Intex Technologies, Akai’s mobile phone division, and Zen Mobile, joined Topwise Communication for Comio as CEO and director for the Indian market.
With Comio brand of smartphones, the company plans to invest Rs. 500 crore over the next two years to build its presence in India in order to compete with the likes of Samsung, Xioami and Micromax.
Comio C2 Review:
The design of Comio C2 impresses you upfront, just like Nokia phones from the past. It feels quite premium for a smartphone in this budget category.The polycarbonate body with a hint of rubberized textured back and golden accents all around, makes Comio C2 a good looking package. In same price bracket we really liked the over all simplistic design and compact form factor of Xiaomi Redmi 4, but having said that, the C2 does step-up the game and we would any day choose it over Redmi 4 for the design. The quality of material on this device reminded us of good old Nokia days. Even the quality material and the finish of charger, cable and even back cover has been well-taken care of and it doesn’t feel cheap at all.
The dual-SIM Comio C2 supports 4G VoLTE bands in India. When you remove the back cover, you get the access to two SIM card slots along with a dedicated microSD card slot, which means you do not need to compromise on either dual-SIM functionality or extended storage.
The volume rocker and power/ lock key can be found on the right. The 3.5mm audio jack is on the top edge, while the Micro-USB port can be found at the bottom along with primary microphone. The big speaker grill is on the back panel.
The handset features a 5-inch HD 720p display, which is great for indoors, but a bit reflective for outdoor sunlight conditions, although the touch performance and colour tone isn’t an issue.
Inside the Comio C2 packs a 64-bit quad-core Mediatek MTK6737 processor with 2GB of RAM. The phone works smooth with multitasking considering the price range of the phone. Consumers do have an option of choosing a Snapdragon processor in Redmi 4, but that is unfortunately not readily available smartphone, so in that case Comio C2 would not disappoint you as well. Also, the good part is its almost stock Android 7.0 Nougat experience, which you’ll not get in Redmi 4.
In terms of optics, the handset packs an 8MP primary rear camera with a single LED flash and another 8MP front-facing selfie camera. We were not expecting these to be a surprise package, but yes these can take decent images, something that you’ll no t get in Oppo and Vivo phones in this price range.
One of the highlighting feature of the budget segment Comio C2 smartphone is its massive 4000mAh battery, which in our review was the best thing about the device. Even with two SIM cards, mainly used 4G, the battery didn’t die for over a day’s time.
Why should you ignore Comio C2?
It’s direct competition is the popular Xiaomi Redmi 4, and if you can catch hold of that phone, then we would suggest you to buy Redmi 4 instead. That also comes with a fingerprint sensor, which is missing in Comio C2.
Why should you buy Comio C2?
The offline market where you get the options of lousy Vivo’s, Oppo’s in the 7K price bracket, the Comio C2 atleast offers good value for money device with good looks, much better battery and decent cameras. On and top of big battery, you also get almost stock Android 7.0 Nougat experience, which is a bonus.
