All new Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus smartphones will go on sale from today, September 29 at 6pm in India.

The pre-orders for both iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus started on September 22. The iPhone 8 64GB variant is priced at Rs. 64,000, whereas iPhone 8 Plus 64GB starts at Rs. 73,000. Apple this-time-around ditched the base 32GB variant as well as the 128GB model. The two new iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus will now be available in two storage options only – 64GB and 256GB variants.

The 256GB iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are priced at Rs. 77,000 and Rs. 86,000 respectively.

The open sale for both smartphones officially go live from 6pm and will be available through all offline and online retail channels.

What’s new in Apple iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus?

The new iPhone 8 and the iPhone 8 Plus can be considered as incremental upgrade over the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. The form factor and the design is very much similar to its predecessors, but there are some improvements.

New iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are powered by A11 Bionic prcessor from Apple. It’s a 64-bit six-core processors, which according to company is handles 70 percent faster multithread workloads than the previous generation A10 SoC.

Apple has replaced the back metal panel with a glass, and now the iPhone 8, 8 Plus support wireless/ induction charging.

The iPhone 8 has a new and improved 12MP camera with new colour filter, quad-LED True Tone Flash. The front facing selfie camera is a 7MP f/2.2 shooter with Retina Flash and full-HD (1080p) video recording.

The iPhone 8 Plus features similar but improved dual 12MP rear camera like the iPhone 7 Plus. However, the front facing selfie camera will be same as the iPhone 8.

Consumers can pre-book iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus through these offline retail stores in India: All Apple authorised retail stores including Croma, eZone, Jumbo Electronics, Redington India, Brightstar, Vijay Sales, Reliance Digital, Sargam and more.

Reliance Jio will be selling the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus through Jio.com website, Jio exclusive stores, and Reliance Digital.

Jio has launched a tariff plan especially for iPhone 8. The Rs 799 plan will provide 90 GB of data per month for post-paid users, over and above the free voice, SMS and complimentary subscription to Jio’s premium applications. the Rs 799 plan is also available for pre-paid users with a 28 day validity. Additionally customers will get Rs 10,000 cashback on September 29, the day of the launch, when they use a Citibank credit card to purchase the phone.

On Flipkart, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are already available with a cashback of Rs 10,000 for Citi Credit Card and Citi World Debit Card customers. Flipkart is also offering No Cost EMI at starting Rs. 5,334 per month.

On Amazon, the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are available with two offers. The exchange discounts on iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus 64GB variants up to Rs. 16,500 . The 256GB storage variants of both iPhones are listed to get a maximum of Rs. 12,100 discount on exchange. Additionally, there are no cost EMIs by major banks as well.
