In an interview with Mehdi Hassan on the sidelines of UN General Assembly, Yunus claimed that reports of anti-Hindu violence in Bangladesh are exaggerated by the Indian media. “These are fake news; you cannot rely on them,” he said.
"We have registered our strong protest on this issue with the Bangladesh side. We understand that the post being referred to has reportedly been taken down. We would like to remind all concerned to be mindful of their public comments,'' Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhi Jaiswal said at a media briefing.
He was conferred with the award by Himachal Governor Bandaru Dattatraya during an event organized at historic Gaiety Theatre by State Election Commission to celebrate National Voters Day.
