WPI inflation for August recorded at 0.52% amid increase in food products prices

The wholesale price index (WPI)-based inflation in August cooled to a four-month low of 1.31 per cent.
The wholesale price index (WPI)-based inflation for the month of September was recorded at (-) 0.26 per cent compared to (-) 0.52 per cent in August, data released by the National Statistical Office (NSO) said on Monday.
"The high rate of inflation in September 2021 is primarily due to rise in prices of mineral oils, basic metals, non-food articles, food products, crude petroleum and natural gas, chemicals and chemical products etc, as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year,"
