West Bengal Governor C.V. Ananda Bose's office on Thursday announced that he has sanctioned the prosecution of two heavyweight Trinamool Congress leaders in the case registered by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the multi-crore cash-for-school job scam.
The Supreme Court also accepted the observation of the Calcutta High Court that the entire panel had to be cancelled because of the failure on the part of the state government and the commission to segregate the "genuine" candidates from the "tainted" ones.
The matter, as scheduled, came up for hearing at Calcutta High Court’s division bench of Justice Debangshu Basak and Justice Shabbar Rashidi on Monday afternoon.
