Congress MP Rahul Gandhi on Monday slammed Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of the Assembly Elections in Bihar, stating that even people in China and the United States were questioning the Indian leader to quit over 'vote chori'.
Fadnavis’ remarks came in response to the Opposition using indecent language against PM Modi and his late mother during a 'vote Adhikar rally' in Bihar’s Darbhanga.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, during the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Bihar, accused the BJP of ‘vote chori’, claiming Amit Shah’s 40-year rule remark stems from electoral manipulation. Joined by Tejashwi Yadav, Priyanka Gandhi, and TN CM MK Stalin, the INDIA bloc showcased unity with rallies, speeches, and sharp attacks on the Election Commission and BJP’s “Gujarat Model".
Rahul accused the Election Commission of India of colluding with the BJP to steal votes, calling "vote chori" an attack on the Constitution of India.
He added that instead of staging political drama in the name of protecting voters’ rights, it would have been better if Rahul Gandhi and Tejashwi Yadav had instructed their Booth-Level Agents (BLAs) to help rectify the voter list where eligible voters’ names had been wrongly removed.
The campaign, aimed at raising awareness against voter fraud and safeguarding democratic rights, witnessed an overwhelming response from the people, who took to the streets in large numbers.
The Congress leader was addressing a gathering during the joint 'Vote Adhikar Rally' in poll-bound Bihar's Sasaram.
Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Leader of the Opposition in the Bihar Assembly Tejashwi Prasad Yadav, CPI(ML) General Secretary Dipankar Bhattacharya and other top leaders of the INDIA Alliance will be present throughout the Yatra and will engage with the public.
"The fight to protect our democracy will take place on the streets! Starting August 17th, LOP Shri @RahulGandhi ji and INDIA parties will embark on a massive Vote Adhikar Yatra across Bihar," Venugopal said in a post shared on handle X.
