Vedanta’s board has approved a $1.5 billion investment to expand its aluminium capacity since the plans to expand its smelters and increase the share of value-added products in its aluminium portfolio, it has been officially announced.
Compared to the corresponding period last year, the company has posted a net profit of Rs 1,369 crore.
According to the global credit rating agency, Vedanta Resources' credit profile will not be weighed down by the group's $20 billion semiconductor manufacturing venture as the investment will be made outside of the company.
