Cabinet unveils Rs 37,500 crore coal gasification scheme to cut energy imports

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday approved a Rs 37,500 crore incentive scheme for surface coal and lignite gasification projects, aiming to strengthen India’s energy security, reduce dependence on imported fuels and chemicals, and accelerate the country’s transition towards cleaner utilisation of domestic coal resources.

Union Cabinet approves increase in MSP for 14 kharif crops

The announcement regarding the hike in MSP for kharif crops for Marketing Season 2026-27 is in line with the Union Budget 2018-19 announcement of fixing the MSP at a level of at least 1.5 times of the all-India weighted average cost of production.

‎Cabinet unveils Rs 5,659 crore cotton mission to boost output, ensure quality and enhance global competitiveness

The Union Cabinet on Tuesday approved an outlay of Rs 5,659.22 crore for a new “Mission for Cotton Productivity”, covering the period from 2026–27 to 2030–31, aimed at tackling structural bottlenecks, reversing declining growth, and improving quality in India’s cotton sector, Information and Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said after the meeting.
