As counting for the three-tier panchayat elections in Uttarakhand concluded on Thursday night, both the ruling BJP and the main opposition Congress claimed victory on Friday. Both parties asserted that they will hold a majority in the 89 Block Panchayats and 12 District Panchayats where elections were conducted.
The Himachal Pradesh government has decided to launch state lotteries to generate additional resources. The decision was approved during a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu on Thursday.
Haryana State Election Commissioner Dhanpat Singh on Tuesday shared that 26 ward members have been elected unopposed in the Urban Local Bodies elections. He shared that all elected ward members have been issued certificates by the respective Returning Officers confirming their unopposed election.
