The Army chief was accompanied by Lieutenant General Pushpendra Singh, Vice Chief of the Army Staff (VCOAS). It is pertinent to mention here that the VCOAS, as a young officer, had been a part of Operation Pawan.
"On the martyrdom day of the ninth Guru of Sikhism, 'Hind Ki Chadar' Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji, I pay my humble respects to him. His ideals, values, sacrifice, and martyrdom will forever remain a source of inspiration for humanity," Gandhi said.
