The newly-formed Janata Unnayan Party (JUP), floated by controversial MLA Humayun Kabir, opened its office in East Burdwan this afternoon, with the party’s district secretary announcing a political battle against the three-time MLA from the Purbasthali (Uttar) Assembly constituency.
Leader of Opposition in Bengal Assembly Suvendu Adhikari today lodged a complaint of physical assault on him by Trinamul MLA from Purbashtali Tapan Chatterjee. He wrote a complaint to Speaker Biman Banerjee.
Pankaj Ganguly and Salek Sheikh, the deputy chief and elected member of Purbasthali panchayat have also been denied invitation, they said.
