Abha Khatua won the gold in women’s shot put with a throw of 17.56m. The Asian Championships silver medallist also broke the meet record in this category.
The 27-year-old Toor made a few practice puts before the qualification round in Oregon but decided to withdraw after failing to recover from the adductor muscle strain he suffered four days ago at a training session in Chula Vista, USA.
Toor sealed the Olympic berth with his opening throw of 21.49m. His legal throws were 21.28, 21.13 and 21.13.
