During a election campaign rally in support of her party candidate Debangshu Bhattacharya in Tamluk, Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee today unleashed a blistering critique of the Adhikari family, without once uttering their names.
The police today arrested Raja Ram Rege, an accused in the 26/11 Mumbai blast case.
Senior BJP leader Suvendu Adhikari today claimed that the Election Commission of India (ECI) has granted permission to the West Bengal government to pay ex-gratia to the families affected by the storm in Jalpaiguri district on 31 March.
The minister posted the information on his X handle (former Twitter) stating that the notice is for spreading all lies about him by Mr Adhikari, who is an MLA.
Mr Adhikari also ensured, paying no heed to model code of conduct that a permanent tea plantation worker will get Rs 350 a day when the BJP comes to power in Bengal.
Once a legal suit is filed against him, he will be able to appeal to the court to make Telecom Authority of India (TRAI) a party in the suit so that the call details of the two landlines at the chief ministers' office from March 4, 2023 to April 12, 2023 can be revealed, he said.
Adhikari also said that he will "expose" the three-time Bengal CM and give a "befitting reply" on Thursday.
He alleged that the funds to feed school students for their nutrition and health, has been unethically diverted by the state government to serve their own vested interests.
He criticised the state government over the recent TET examination and said it was unsuccessful. Even one CCTV was stolen from an exam Centre, he said.
He said though the official death toll in the blast is three, local people suspect that some more people have been killed in the explosion.
