Soma Poddar was summoned by the central probe agency as part of the its investigation into the alleged land scam.
Reports indicate that the ED has obtained information suggesting that substantial amounts of money were deposited into Biswas's account in exchange for extending favours to Sona Pappu and Joy Kamdar.
The matter surfaced during the Chief Minister’s pre-announced “Janatar Darbare (People’s Court)” programme, where citizens were invited to directly present complaints and grievances.
The Kolkata Police has terminated Biswas after his arrest last week by the central agency.
