Addressing a Kisan Sammelan at Dangawas near Merta town of Nagaur district, Tuesday afternoon, Chouhan also assured of making another law for addressing the cheating on availability and quality of fertilizers and manure.
In his keynote address, he reaffirmed the Prime Minister’s resolve to ensure that no sister remains in poverty, no woman lives with tears in her eyes, and that every sister attains dignity, confidence, and prosperity as a Lakhpati Didi.
He also announced that the recommendations emerging from the Congress will be incorporated into national policies and regional action plans.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Asian Seed Congress 2025 in Mumbai, Chouhan said the private sector’s contribution, along with public institutions, is essential for developing high-quality seeds.
He also directed the authorities at the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) to take immediate action to fill these vacancies to ensure quality education.
Addressing farmers and entrepreneurs at the Makhana Mahotsav 2025 held in Patna on Saturday, Chouhan called makhana an “extraordinary blessing” for the poor and asserted that “Bihar has become a global hub for makhana production”.
Union Minister of State for Rural Development Kamlesh Paswan, Rural Development Secretary Shailesh Singh and senior officials from both the ministries were present on the occasion, an official release said.
The new GST rates are expected to increase savings for farmers on essential items, thereby reducing their input costs and enhancing their overall income.
“The Prime Minister has said that no pact (with the US) will take place at the cost of farmers. Their interests will be protected,” Chouhan stated.
On Monday, their protest coincided with Chouhan’s visit to Bhopal, where he addressed the convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) and lauded various farmer welfare initiatives, including the crop insurance scheme, being implemented by the Narendra Modi-led Union government.
