The Bombay High Court has taken a strong stand against online misuse of celebrity identities, protecting Shilpa Shetty’s persona from digital exploitation. Platforms are now legally required to remove defamatory content.
The court noted that these images, which were created without Shetty's consent, violate her fundamental right to privacy and could severely tarnish her reputation.

On Thursday, Shetty’s lawyer informed the court that the actress would no longer be travelling overseas. This decision came after the court rejected their plea to suspend the LOC.
A bench comprising Chief Justice Chandrashekhar and Justice Gautam Ankhad was firm. It said it could not allow leisure trips while the couple is accused in a cheating and fraud case involving a massive sum.
While Shilpa Shetty has not made any public comment, sources close to her say she is “fully cooperating” with the investigators. The EOW is expected to summon more individuals linked to the case.
The lawyer further clarified, “No such amount was ever received by Mrs. Shilpa Shetty Kundra. Since the matter is currently subjudice, we cannot reveal further details."
