Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Shehbaz Sharif on being appointed PM with a formal message mentioning, “Congratulations to @CMShehbaz on being sworn in as the Prime Minister of Pakistan.” A similar tepid response came from Pakistan.
Shehbaz Sharif has been elected as Pakistan’s Prime Minister for the second time, marking a return to a position he held until August when Parliament was dissolved ahead of the elections.
Sharif won 201 votes against his PTI rivals who could manage only 97 votes.
In a major development, the PPP has agreed to make a coalition government with the PML-N on the condition that Bilawal will be made the Prime Minister, The News reported.
Nawaz Sharif's PML-N has won 63 and Zardari's PPP has managed 50 seats as final results are still being awaited.
The SCO summit is scheduled for September 15-16 where leaders of the organisation will sit together to discuss regional challenges, Daily Jang reported.
The report added that the amount was kept in "hidden accounts" and "given to Shehbaz in a personal capacity", Geo News reported.
This comes after Pakistani authorities registered as many as nine cases of intimidation of journalists by army-related agencies since Shehbaz Sharif took over as prime minister in late April.
It is pertinent to mention that Ismail owns a wide range of biscuits and snacks companies in Pakistan and in the federal budget for the Fiscal Year 2022-2023.
The commission released an annual performance report stating that they disposed of 6,117 cases until December 31, 2021.
