Officials familiar with the development said the agency has sought documents relating to projects sanctioned since 2019, including files connected to regulatory clearances, land-use permissions, and financial obligations.
ED teams carried out searches at the premises of Jalandhar-based chartered accountant and municipal contractor Amit Bajaj, who is known to have professional links with Arora during his tenure as Local Bodies Minister.
During the court appearance, Sanjeev Arora appeared physically weak with a grown beard and became emotional after meeting his family members. He was seen embracing and consoling relatives outside the courtroom.
The court had earlier sent him to seven days’ ED custody for interrogation in the case.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court posted the matter for further hearing on Monday.
