West Bengal Panchayat, Rural Development and Animal Resources Development Minister Dilip Ghosh on Saturday launched a sharp attack on the previous Trinamul Congress (TMC) administration, alleging that “threat culture”, corruption and administrative irregularities had crippled governance in the state for years.
Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Wednesday directed officials to accelerate rural infrastructure projects, strengthen panchayat-level governance and expand women-led self-help groups across Jharkhand during separate high-level review meetings held at the state secretariat.
Presenting the demands for grants in the House, Finance Minister Radha Krishna Kishore said the additional outlay was necessitated by emerging requirements during the current fiscal and the need to accelerate key development works.
In Madhya Pradesh, an amount of Rs 652.55 crore has been released as the second installment of Untied Grants for FY 2024-25.
He emphasized that these challenges cannot be addressed through conventional methods alone, but require innovation, technology and strong institutional financial support.
"During the decade from financial year 2016 to 2025, the agricultural sector posted a decadal growth rate of 4.45 per cent, the highest compared to previous decades," Chouhan said while reacting to the Economic Survey.
The CM stated that farmers are the foundation of our culture, our heritage, and the true drivers of the state’s economy.
Rijiju said Uttar Pradesh is the largest state and the BJP and the state government will reach out to the public to explain the benefits of the legislation.
The MoU was signed on Tuesday by Prof. Punjab Singh, Chairman of the FAARD Foundation, and Prof. Amit Patra, Director of IIT (BHU). This agreement will be effective for the next five years.
A government spokesperson said that Scheduled Caste farmers registered on the “Meri Fasal Mera Byora (MFMB)” portal and owning agricultural land are eligible to apply.
