Former MP Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav has not withdrawn his nomination for the Lok Sabha election from Bihar's Purnea seat despite being asked by Congress to take back his name.
In Patna, Lalu Yadav's elder son and RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav also celebrated the festival at his residence and extended his heartfelt wishes to the people on the occasion of Holi.

The development came as a setback to the main Opposition RJD headed by Lalu Prasad with the party's tally coming down to 79 from existing 80. The RJD which won 75 seats in the last assembly elections had reached to 80 after it won the Bochaha assembly by-polls held in April this year and then four of the five legislators belonging to All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) joined the party last month.
Political experts say Prasad’s visit to the state capital might see some unexpected developments in the state political scene with the two political rivals meeting twice over the Iftar party during the past six days and the growing bonhomie between the two only two visible now.
Currently, Lalu Prasad is admitted in AIIMS Delhi due to his multiple health issues. He suffers from kidney disease, blood pressure, lung infection besides other ailments and is under the custody of jail in the AIIMS Delhi.
