Govt mulling re-opening primary schools: Mamata

Miss Banerjee said that the Paray Shikshalaya, an open-air classroom in the neighbourhood programme that is being held for students from V to VII will continue. Schools for classes VIII to XII have resumed from 3 February. Miss Banerjee’s proposal to reopen primary schools came a day after Nobel laureate Abhijit Vinayak Banerjee said that schools for all classes should be reopened immediately while launching the Annual Status of Education Report (ASER, West Bengal).

20 -month ‘exile’ ends for Kolkata students

The students were stopped at the college gate and asked to produce the first dose vaccination certificate. They claimed that though it is true that vaccination camps were set up at the college, it was nowhere mentioned that doses will also be administered to students below 18 years.

Schools to reopen post Puja if Covid situation permits: CM

"We want students to go to schools. Currently, the Covid infection rate is one per cent. If the third wave is not dangerous then schools would be reopened. As Durga Puja is a few days later and schools are closed during the festive period till Diwali, we have decided that schools can reopen after that Prior to this, all schools will be sanitised,”
