The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had done everything to protect the real culprits in the R.G. Kar rape and murder case, the victim's mother told a trial court in Kolkata on Friday.
As Thursday marks the end of the four-day Durga Puja festival in West Bengal without a single protest demonstration on the R.G. Kar rape and murder tragedy, the parents of the victim have called for resurrection of the mass movement, as was evident last year, till "justice is achieved".
A Division Bench of the Calcutta High Court on Friday morning rejected the admissibility of the petition by the West Bengal government seeking death penalty for Sanjay Roy, the sole convict in the R G Kar rape and murder tragedy.
