Centre approves Dispute Avoidance Mechanism for Hydro power projects

This mechanism would reduce the conversion of initial disagreements and also for expeditious elimination of disagreements in a ‘just and fair' manner. It would also help avoid time and cost overruns so as to ensure timely completion of the Projects, said a senior officer of the Power Ministry.

REC and J-PAL join hands to improve power supply in India

India’s leading power company, REC (Rural Electrification Corporation) has entered into an agreement with leading power company Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL) South Asia to examine the existing data on DISCOMS’ services to diagnose trends and identify gaps in the quality of power supply, said a senior officer of the Power Ministry.

NTPC gears up to meet rising power demands

This year power consumption has registered an increase of 23 %, as a result coal stock position in some plants is critical, said a senior officer of the Power Ministry adding that the government is still making all efforts to meet demand as per the grid requirements.
