The MoU was signed in New Delhi on Thursday by Kerala’s General Education Secretary J. Vasuki and officials from the Union Ministry of Education.
Revenue Minister K Rajan, one of the CPI nominees in the Pinarayi Vijayan-led LDF government, is learnt to have raised objections against the decision to implement the scheme in the cabinet meeting held on Wednesday.
After much indecisiveness, the LDF government in Kerala has decided to join the PM SHRI (PM’s Schools for Rising India) scheme in state schools, setting aside objections from its ally CPI.
